In summer, 4 Vallées region offers a magnificient backdrop for walking, hiking, mountain biking and horse riding.
Mountain pastures sprinkled with babbling brooks, peaceful herds of the Hérens cows, majestic summits and magnificent views of the Alps: this is the idyllic picture that 4 Vallées has to offer in summer. To make it easier to visit our mountain pastures and for getting to Mont Fort, you can use our lifts which are open throughout the summer.
If you’d like to discover 4 Vallées on foot, you’ll find maps with all the different pathways in the tourist offices of our resorts. Make sure to check the level of difficulty and the equipment necessary for the various hikes.
Lots of circuits, such as Tour du Mont Fort, Tour de la Printze or the Grand Raid are waiting for mountain bike enthusiasts.
SUMMER
Mountain Bike
Enjoy 200 km of groomed cross-country trails or take on the downhill runs at the bikepark. Not to be missed trails include the Mont- Blanc route and the Tour du Mont-Fort.
Do not miss the Grand Raid bike race, the Swiss mountain bike marathon from Verbier to Grimentz. 125 km with a vertical drop of 5.205 m.
Bisses
Ancient water irrigation channels, the bisses provide an opportunity to have a refreshing excursion alongside water.
Nendaz has a unique network of 98km of hikes along 8 "bisses" of which 6 have water flowing within their banks.
The paths that run alongside these Bisses have the advantage of being slightly inclined, passing through very varied locations and always providing surprising detours through the valleys, villages and mountains.
The Bisses are walkable from spring to autumn and are also accessible to children, their parents as well as their grandparents.
